Announcing our 2010 Sandra Olson Award Winners! At the annual campaign event on April 15, we announced the winners of the 2010 Sandra Olson Award, given annually to individuals who go above and beyond for New Urban Arts. For more stories from the annual campaign event, check the blog.

New Urban Arts students host our first ever Zine Fair! The Zine Fair, held on April 10, was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who attended, tabled and volunteered.

First Lady Michelle Obama presents New Urban Arts a Coming Up Taller Award in Washington DC! New Urban Arts is nationally recognized as one of 15 youth arts and humanities programs to receive the prestigious 2009 Coming Up Taller Award. An initiative of the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, the Coming Up Taller award is the nation’s highest honor for the field of out-of-school time arts and humanities programs.
