Mary Wilson

Mary was born and raised in Worcester, MA, and returned “almost home” to Providence in 2008. She received her BA in English from Bard College in 2006. Mary primarily writes poetry, but has also been known to write prose, criticism and very, very short fiction. Most of her work is an attempt to apply language to those things which resist it; the forgotten, unknowable or unsayable conditions which we all encounter or dwell in at one point or another. It is entirely possible that Mary finds herself dwelling in these conditions more often than what may be considered average, and is compelled to write poetry for this reason. Nevertheless, she is a firm believer in writing’s potential to be both liberating and grounding; a way of seeing and creating meaning in a world of infinite interpretations.
