Alan Tracy is a Providence-based artist who frequently creates collaboratively in a spirit of skills sharing, helping people realize their artistic vision. He received his BA in Individualized Studies at Goddard College where — through the lens of printmaking, photography, fiber work and the occasional performance — he focused on worldwide cultural beliefs around fabric. His current project considers fabric a vessel for memory, where stories from people in his community are printed and sewn into the work. Alan is also the co-founder of the embroidery club at RISD, which meets frequently at the RISD Nature Lab.
