Cristiane (she/her) is a gardener, interdisciplinary artist, outdoor instructor and art & design educator. She approaches art and design practices as tools to engage with and understand the ecologies we transit and inevitably contribute to. Her creative process relies on place, time, the biotic and abiotic, and serves to facilitate the building of kincentric relations. Cristiane has dedicated her work to empowering youth through organizations that center student voices. Cristiane is a Portfolio Mentor at New Urban Arts, a Design Educator at DownCity Design and Instructor for WildLives. During the summers she runs a garden at Buck’s Rock Camp and skips a chunk of the Rhode Island winter visiting her family in the Dominican Republic.
