The printmaking conference SGC International came to Providence earlier this April, and our own Printmaking Resident Artist Mentor, Ian organized a pop-up gallery show in the studio titled, “New Urban Prints,” which gathered print-based work by NUA students, alumni, and current and former mentors & staff. NUA has maintained a silkscreen studio since 2004, and adult mentors & teenagers have worked together here on realizing young people’s visions in exuberantly various screenprinted form since then. Click through the gallery below for a sample of the works exhibited.
Thank you to SGC International, Ian Cozzens for organizing, and Rachel Turner for photographing the exhibition.
