NUA Knights partnered with the Audubon Society StormWater Innovation Center over April Vacation to learn about water quality focusing on stormwater and runoff and how they affect the environment, including the people, plants, and animals that live in our local communities and neighborhoods. This year there was an increased focus on green infrastructure and green roofing. We had 16 Central youth attend this program! Youth were able to dive deep into the learning, get a walking tour at Roger Williams Park of the existing green infrastructure, spent the afternoon at the Zoo, and built and painted birdhouses to be installed in the community.
