The Rev. Dr. David Ames is an ordained Episcopal minister, teacher, and consultant for non-profit organizations. He served for almost three decades as the Episcopal Chaplain at Brown University and as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Community Health in the Brown Medical School. David is presently the Priest-in-Charge at All Saints’ Memorial Church, Providence, RI. He is a founding member of the Center for Reconciliation, a new non-profit project focused on legacies of Rhode Island’s slave trade history dedicated to education and training for the work of reconciliation. Following his time at Brown, David served for several years as an Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Rhode Island College. As a consultant and former Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of ESC New England, he works with non-profit groups on issues of board development and strategic planning. He is a former trustee at the Wheeler School in Providence and has served on several area boards. Presently he is a member of the Clergy Advocacy Board of Planned Parenthood Federation of America.
