Michaela Bland grew up in Rochester, New York. She graduated from Ithaca College with honors, where she earned her BA in Psychology, as well as double minors in Counseling and Anthropology. Following her undergraduate studies, Michaela was accepted to Roger Williams University School of Law’s Honors Program. During her time at RWU Law, Michaela was awarded a coveted Skadden Fellowship, funding a research project focusing on the disproportionate discipline suffered by children of color in schools and its long-lasting impact on their young lives. Michaela graduated from RWU Law in May 2019, with honors, and is currently working as a staff attorney (pending July 2019 Bar results) for the Rhode Island Center for Justice specializing in education law. Michaela has a passion for helping others and cultivating new and innovative ways to use the law to advocate for her clients, as well as the community at large.
