Erica Carpenter

Erica is a poet and Rhode Island native. She received an MFA in Literary Arts from Brown University in 1998. She is the author of a chapbook (Summoned to the Fences, published by Etherdome in 2001) and a full-length collection of poems (Perspective Would Have Us, due out from Burning Deck in 2006). She has published in a number of literary journals and has been the recipient of various grants, awards, and fellowships, including a Beinecke Fellowship, a Westin Writing Prize, a resource grant from the RI Committee for the Humanities, and a 2005 merit grant from the RI State Council on the Arts. She is currently gasping to stay ahead of numerous submission deadlines while procrastinating wildly on the progress of a fictive memoir. She works as a freelance copywriter & communications consultant.
