Kate was born and raised in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is a painting senior at RISD. She works in a variety of media, including painting, sculpture, collage, and installation. She has worked with VIPS (Volunteers in Providence Schools), Riverzedge Arts Project in Woonsocket, and spent the spring of 2006 at La Escuela de Artes Plásticas in Puerto Rico. She has applied for a Watson Fellowship to make art with youth communities in Latin America next year. Afterwards, she plans to return to Providence. Kate is most inspired by dialogue within local community, digesting and encouraging a give and take with people and spaces in our urban environment.
