KP Peralta, Studio Advocate

KP Peralta (he/they) is an anti-imperialist, abolitionist, pro-people Filipinx-American settler residing on the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary lands of the Narragansett and Wôpanâak. As a student in the Master of Social Work program at Rhode Island College, they are the Studio Advocate (Social Work Intern) for New Urban Arts’ 2022-2023 program year. Prior to attending RIC, KP worked as a marketing and editorial graphic designer and organizer for human rights in the Philippines. Their ongoing creative practice is in spoken word poetry focusing on the intersection identity formation with class and ethnicity.
