Rosalia Velis

Rosalia Velis was been part of the New Urban Arts community for five years before her role as chair of the Studio Team Advisory Board at New Urban Arts. As a high school student she worked with multiple artist mentors in our studio ranging from photography and film to screen printing and creative movement. She also co-designed and printed New Urban Arts’ 10th Anniversary poster. She has been a member of S.T.A.B., the youth governance board at New Urban Arts, since it was first started in 2007. Recently, she mentored younger students in the Summer Studio, teaching screen-printing and pinhole photography. She also served on New Urban Arts first ever fellowship selection committee. Rosalia is active in the Providence arts community, including the Steelyard where she fabricated trash cans and fences, and also taught middle school students ceramics and welding.
