Jannelle Codianni (she/her) is driven by the belief that a better world is possible and that creativity is key to building it. She is passionate about enhancing community resilience through collective action and equitable access to the arts. Jannelle holds a BFA from The Massachusetts College of Art’s concept-based major, The Studio for Interrelated Media (SIM), where she honed her skills in performance, production, and gracefully accepting criticism. She also earned a nonprofit management certificate from the MetroWest Nonprofit Network and Framingham State University and is a National Arts Strategies Community Fellows: New England alumna.
Before joining New Urban Arts, Jannelle served as the Executive Director of a community-centered visual and performing arts nonprofit in Massachusetts. There, she worked to create access to the arts, foster collaboration, and fell in love with values-driven organizational development.
Jannelle’s life pivots around the art of spacemaking, both physical and emotional. Her multifarious roles have included a handywoman for hire, award-winning storyteller, community educator, herbalist, event producer, small-scale homesteader, and amateur powerlifter with an unimpressive USPA record. Someday, she will finish renovating the gutted bathroom in her home, which she shares with her partner, four children, and three cats.
