Washawn Jones is a Massachusetts native and a graduate of Emmanuel College, UMass Dartmouth, and Brockton High School. She started in her role as New Urban Arts’ Director of Development in April 2021.
Prior to joining the team at New Urban Arts, Washawn worked at Lincoln School, TIMES2 Academy, The Providence Journal, and The Boston Globe. While at TIMES2 Academy, Washawn and her team created the inaugural I.D.E.A.L. (Increasing Diversity, Equity and Leadership) STEM Conference at Rhode Island College for middle and high school students in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut.
When not working, Washawn enjoys boating, visiting museums, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
