Sophie Tintori

Sophie grew up in Brooklyn making precarious, spindly Halloween costumes and toys for herself. Now she is a part time biologist, part time wire and cardboard fiddler. She works in an evolutionary biology lab in Providence, studying a beautiful type of jellyfish which looks like a chandelier, or a very elaborate earring. She also makes animations, videos and drawings about her favorite biology stories, which can be found at creaturecast.org. Sophia will be around the studio as a Studio Study Buddy looking for people who want to talk about science, writing or literature. She can’t wait to learn more about stories and pictures by working on projects with the lovely folks at New Urban Arts.
